All about the A Wild Night.

    Tour Outline

Meet your expert guide at the front of your accommodation in Darwin and begin the journey south towards the unique region of Litchfield National Park.

A journey back in time as you visit historic mining ruins and ponder the nature of life on the frontier.  See also mother natures statues (Cathedral and Magnetic Termite mounds) in and around the woodland, grassland and forests that form the natural backdrop as you provide witness to the scene.

Stop for a moment.  Admire the vast landscapes across the NT outback from a Waterfall vantage point.

Stop for a moment. Immerse yourself in the tranquillity and wonder of a perched wetland as bird sound then silence play together across the reflective surface of the oasis.

Enjoy home prepared snacks and refreshments and feast on local wild caught Barramundi at the quaint village of Batchelor after strolling the halls of the past captured within the quality local museum.

THEN …A Night in the WILD!

Alligator hole is ground zero for your ‘Wild Night’.

Located on private property 30 minutes from Batchelor access is strictly exclusive and personal.

Arriving at the boundary of the property you will bid farewell to your ethical adventure guide and say hello to your ‘Wild Night’ expert from ‘Crocodiles &Gouldian’s’.

Traveling from here by 4×4 along the outback roads to base get to know the stories and feel the space before arriving at base camp next to the wildlife mecca of alligator hole (so named after the 50 or so fresh water crocodiles and perhaps the off saltie that lives there) before settling in for an afternoon of wildlife and bird watching.

As the sun dips below the horizon enjoy sunset nibbles on the billabong in preparation for a night time stroll in the wild when our animals are in their element.

As the Milky Way shines down and our evening draws to a close snuggle into your private campsite and drift into a well deserved slumber.

Beware though … be prepared for things that go ‘bump’ in the night !

    Day 2

Rising early and a short outback drive sees us enjoying breakfast with the Gouldian’s followed by ample time to admire these fascinating endangered little beauties.  Keep a sharp eye out for the rarely seen Yellow Faced Gouldian in amongst the little beauties but don’t forgot to pay tribute to the plethora of other avian, mammal and reptilian co-conspirators on this wildlife odyssey.

Following on from this wildlife feast you will take the scenic drive back to Alligator hole to … just be.

Lunch by the billabong and quiet chats before meeting up with ethical adventures for your return to Darwin.
